Join us for an Old-fashioned Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 27, 2013.
The 2013 Observance will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. Our speaker will be Dave Wells, local historian, talking about Nebraskans in the Civil War, especially as related to the Battle of Gettysburg, 150 years ago this year.
The Observance will also feature the Prospect Hill Preservation Brass Ensemble playing traditional music, Boy Scouts leading the Pledge of Allegiance, reenactors in Civil War-era uniforms presenting the colors and a 21-gun salute, and a tribute to local businesswoman Anna Wilson.
Music begins at 10:45 a.m. Parking is available. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket. No dogs, please.
Books and refreshments will be available for purchase.
