Prospect Hill Cemetery
"Omaha's Pioneer Cemetery"

Prospect Hill Cemetery is governed by the PHC Historic Site Development Foundation, a non-profit entity under the provisions of Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)3.  Contributions are tax-deductible.  The funds are professionally administered by Omaha’s First National Bank Wealth Management Department.

The Foundation board members are volunteers and receive no pay or other compensation (aside from the rewards of helping preserve part of our history).  The historical research and documentation, website development, publications, grant applications, and speakers bureau activities are done by the board members with volunteer assistance from other individuals and organizations.  These activities involve only minor costs associated with printing, copying, and postage.

Why do we need your help now?

  • Building maintenance and repairs for the historic building, which also is used for meetings, visitor activities, and researching burial information
  • Utilities and insurance
  • Grounds maintenance - It costs over $1,300 to mow the entire Cemetery just one time!  (Multiply that over spring through autumn.)
  • Repairs to historic monuments from settling, vandalism, and weather
  • Efforts to support community outreach, such as an area to park tour buses bringing visitors to the Cemetery
  • Periodic mailings to announce the Memorial Day and other activities and to solicit needed financial support
Please help us continue our preservation of one of Omaha’s historical treasures, and our efforts in educating students and other interested visitors about the fascinating folks who helped build Omaha.

To contribute, please print the form, complete it, and send it to the address on the form.
Call the number on the form if you have any questions.

Your gift is welcome, no matter how small or large.

Thank you for your help and interest!

Please visit the Cemetery to enjoy your history.
