Memorial Day Observance

Anna Wilson, Prospect Hill’s most famous resident, will be the subject of our program.
Anna’s Eulogy will be presented by Jim Fogarty
With the Prospect Hill Preservation Brass Ensemble
Featuring a performance of "The Spirit of the West", a march honoring Buffalo Bill Cody
Parking is available. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket.
Presentation of the colors by the First Nebraska Volunteers, uniformed Civil War reenactors.
Invocation by the Reverend Robert Scott retired, whose great great grandfather Fredrick Krug is buried at Prospect Hill and was an prominent early Omaha businessman.
National Anthem, led by the PH Preservation Brass Ensemble.
The Pledge of Allegiance, led by Boy Scout Troop 88, who placed flags on veterans’ graves.
Speaker Jim Fogarty will present a special Eulogy to Anna Wilson, Omaha’s legendary business woman and benefactor to Prospect Hill. Fogarty is a well-known Omaha writer and business owner.
Benediction, a 21-musket salute by the First Nebraska Volunteers, Taps and march-off
After the formal program, Jim Fogarty will lead the traditional memorial to Anna Wilson down the road at her grave site. He will be accompanied by the PH Preservation Brass Ensemble, and present a yellow rose at Anna’s grave, an annual tradition dating back to 1912.
Admission is FREE, Donations welcome.
No dogs, as the 21-musket salute frightens them.
Books and refreshments will be available for purchase.
