Established over six years ago, the Prospect Hill Cemetery Legacy Arboretum celebrates a wide variety of trees that are native or particularly well adapted to this area.  These beautiful trees contribute to the natural beauty and educational value of this historic site.  Arboretum Walking Tour maps (see below) are available in the Visitor Center.  Over time, weather and natural attrition take their toll on the aging trees here.  We wish to thank the many organizations and individuals, including OPPD and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, for their financial support.  With the help of these donors, Arboretum volunteers, and the continuing oversight of consulting arborist Jack Phillips, our volunteer arboretum curator, these trees will contribute to the Cemetery’s serenity for generations to come.

Would you like to honor a loved one with a newly-planted Legacy Arboretum tree?
For a contribution of $250, a metal memorial marker will be placed next to one of our youthful trees.
